- The correct posture governs our balance throughout the swing, get the posture right and we maintain our balance throughout the swing enabling more solid contact through impact.
- The correct posture along with the length of club being used will govern the swing plane, this is the angle at which the club travels around the body during the swing.
Having taken the stance at shoulder width apart from heel to heel, with the club held in front of the body and the shaft parallel to the ground, bend forwards from the hips and allow the arms to lower the club until the club head touches the floor.
At this point you will feel a slight tightening of the hamstrings (located in the back of the legs) at this stage a slight knee bend will relieve the tension, the head should be held up to allow the shoulders to turn freely into the back swing.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery images=”4397,4398,4399″ img_size=”medium” columns=”3″][vc_column_text]Many thanks to our resident Head PGA Professional Pete Bower and our Business Development Officer Jamie for allowing us to use their images from their latest lesson, be sure to check out part 4 next week which will track Jamie’s progress into the back swing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
